What motivated you to work in this field?

I grew up around Jersey's rugged coastline and was lucky enough to swim, dive and surf my way into a peaceful and respectful relationship with the sea. It wasn't long until I was taking my camera below the water. As someone that has grown up around the sea, I hope to help educate the world on how beautiful yet fragile our oceans are. It's a world that many are afraid to explore, but it fascinates me every time I step into the water.

Ocean Culture Life was born out of my passion for the ocean. My team and I hope to remind people of the beauty and fragility of our oceans by providing a place for creatives and organisations to collaborate on pressing issues and support each other in steering change towards restoring healthy oceans.

What advice would you give to someone who is keen to learn more about environmental careers?

If there's one thing for certain, it's that consumers and organisations are becoming increasingly aware. They care. And as a society, we're beginning to make the changes we so very need for our planet, meaning there is a clear opportunity for individuals to step into the void and be thought leaders!

I work in a busy commercial world but the ocean has always been my release and a personal love. I am now lucky enough to work alongside a wide range of individuals, businesses and non-profits that exist for a greater purpose than just shareholder or monetary returns. These are the stories that motivate me most.
