Primary Engineer Programme

Skills Jersey have been in partnership with Primary Engineer since 2018, to bring STEAM-focused engagement activities into our schools. We run two programmes, targeting Nurseries, Primary and Secondary schools, and accessing local engineers and businesses to provide the inspiration and specialist role models in the classroom.

1.The Leaders Award Competition saw a record 1100 entries in 2024, across 15 local schools. Engineers are invited into schools to share their career and work experiences, helping pupils find creative solutions to everyday problems.

2. Construction Programme – sees schools partnering with a local engineering business to deliver a design project over several weeks.
