Currently in its third year, Jersey Sport is an independent body tasked with championing sport and active living within the island.
It’s staggering that in Jersey, 49% of adults and 81% of children and young people do not meet the World Health Organisation’s recommended guidelines for physical activity. This means they are not active enough to have a positive impact on their health and well-being.
In May 2019, Jersey Sport launched the Move More Jersey initiative to inspire more islanders to get more active, more often, in a way that fits with their daily life.
The Inspiring an Active Jersey strategy has now been produced to tackle the issue of inactivity within the island and Jersey Sport will drive this strategy forward.
